01:02 pm - Amazing
There is something so incredible about watching the Smashing Pumpkins rock "Tonight, Tonight" while being soaked by a downpouring of rain.

11:18 pm - Happy Birthday to ME
Today was MUCH better than last year. I just wanted to cry my eyes out last year on my birthday. I guess it was because it was the first time I'd ever had to work on my birthday. I worked today after just getting over the stomach flu. All the peeps from work and I went out to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. It was cool. The GM called me first thing this morning to tell me happy birthday. Ronda "forgot", she said that she thought today was the 24th, but she did finally watch Clerks 2, which totally makes up for it.
PJ, Jer and I went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. She was such a good baby. She just drew with her crayon and was a little angel. It's so hit or miss with how she acts in a restaurant, cause she gets bored. Having paper on the table helped her to be occupied.
We came home and watched "So You think you can dance?" And Jeremy read his book. Plus we had a huge downpour today- and everyone knows how much I love the rain!! PJ and I went outside and played in the rain. She had a blast, but we were both soaked by the end of it.

04:41 pm - The Springs at Gilbert Meadows
(x-posted to my own journal)
This place may look nice, but it is a HOLE. I have lived here for 3 years now, and it's my second year in this apartment. I liked the place and it fit my budget. When I moved into this apartment (a 2 bed, 2 bath) I paid $700 a month- not bad at all. Now, I pay OVER $800 a month for a two bedroom apartment that is only 840 sq ft. I've had numerous AC problems, but today took the cake! I called this morning and they just said they'd get around to it whenever. I called 3 hours later for a status check, as I have a 15 month old that was getting very cranky at the heat (we live in the most southwestern apartment in the complex and get the afternoon sun)- our AC is at 75 at all times just to feel like it's bareable(sp?). They send someone out that replaces our thermostat and tells us that they have to order parts to fix the ac and that he would bring us a portable unit that we'd have for the next "few" days and on the way out tells us that the portable unit will blow the breaker and we'll just need to reset it. Additionally, we'll have to leave our window open to vent it (how safe is that!?). Right after he leaves, our house reaks of cigarette smoke from this machine (and I'm JUST getting over pnuemonia) AND not more than 5 minutes later, it INDEED blows the breaker and my surge bar containing my computer. I call again and they said they'd send the maintenance staff again. This time another guy joins the first guy and they fix the AC in 20 minutes.
When I called the manager to complain, she told me that the response time was sufficient because had I owned a house, it would take much longer- to which I replied that the reason I pay rent is for THEM to take care of things in a timely manner. Additionally, I informed her that if they had FIXED the problem in the initial visit, the response time would have been more than sufficient, but I was put through the ringer and subjected to the portable unit. She responded that she had been complained to about that particular unit before and would look into getting a new one. Then when I complained about the portable unit again told me that it was the first she had heard of the smell.
The office staff is rude, which the manager said would be taken care of because the new renovation on the property were the first priority and now that they were done, they could focus on staff training. I don't know what ever happened to customer service, but you SURELY WON'T find it at The Springs at Gilbert Meadows apartment complex.
Sorry the rant was so long, but I wanted to let everyone out there know you should not move here.
